Chris Loorham

B.Juris, LLB, MSS (Planning and Environment), MPIA.

Planning consultant and conflict resolution

Chris is a member of the Planning Institute of Australia and admitted as a member of the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators in 2005.

​

He moved to the South West in 2009, and has held senior planning management positions in Moyne Shire and Southern Grampians Shire. His extensive experience as a Statutory Planner includes assessing and managing the full range of rural and regional planning permit applications. 

​

As a planner with an extensive legal background, Chris brings his legal training and experience to analyse and clarify the most difficult planning problems. His skills as a mediator place people at the centre of the solution. 

He was Principal Solicitor with the Environment Defenders Office during its foundation years between 1993 and 1999, and has spent ten years as a mediation manager with the National Native Title Tribunal dealing with Native Title claims and agreements throughout Australia.

Chris has taught planning law at Victoria University and environmental dispute resolution at the Australian Maritime College.

Chris has an extensive network of associates and professional contacts and is well known for his professional knowledge, friendly and respectful manner, and capacity to bring planning issues to the best possible outcome.
